Newester 是一個思考「創作是什麼」的計畫，我們從攝影出發，實驗創作的最小條件。
我們發現，「做出一個新的東西」是唯一能夠被肯定的創作行為。
而其他──好看、政治性、情緒、收藏價值──都可以被捨棄。
我們將這個計畫視為一種對藝術的極端提問。
它追求的是創作的自治性，而非作品的完成度。
你可以覺得這個計畫很荒謬，也可以不這麼覺得，
但這些看法本身，都不比「新」這件事重要。

Newester は「創作とは何か」を考えるプロジェクトであり、私たちは写真から出発し、創作の最小条件を実験している。
私たちは、「新しいものを作ること」だけが確実に肯定できる創作行為であると気づいた。
それ以外──美しさ、政治性、感情、コレクション価値──は捨てることができる。
このプロジェクトは、芸術に対する極端な問いかけである。
目指しているのは作品の完成度ではなく、創作の自律性である。
この計画がバカバカしいと思っても、そう思わなくてもいい。
でも、そのどちらの考えよりも、「新しさ」の方が重要なのだ。

Newester is a project that questions what creation is. Starting from photography, we experiment with the minimum conditions of making art.
We found that “making something new” is the only creative act we can affirm.
Everything else—beauty, politics, emotion, collectability—can be discarded.
This project is an extreme question posed to art itself.
It seeks not completion, but autonomy in creation.
You may find this project absurd, or you may not.
Either way, those opinions are less important than the fact that it is new.

加重快門的相機｜重いシャッターのカメラ｜Camera with a Heavy Shutter
一台相機的快門裝上彈簧，需用極大力氣才能按下。
カメラのシャッターボタンにバネを付け、非常に強い力を加えないと押せないようにする。
A spring is added to the camera's shutter button, requiring extreme force to press it.
有一張照片，只要有人看著它，就會有神秘人物出現往觀者口袋塞錢。
ある写真を見つめると、謎の人物が現れて観賞者のポケットにお金を入れてくる。
When someone looks at a certain photo, a mysterious person appears and puts money into the viewer’s pocket.
攝影決鬥｜フォト・デュエル｜Photo Duel
給兩個人相機，規定兩人在限制時間內分出高下。
2人にカメラを渡し、制限時間内に勝敗を決めるよう指示する。
Two people are given cameras and instructed to determine a winner within a limited time.
照片表面撒上綠豆等待其發芽，觀察照片中所含之能量。
写真の表面に緑豆を撒き、発芽を待ちながら写真に含まれるエネルギーを観察する。
Mung beans are spread over a photograph and left to sprout, observing the energy contained within the image.
